The 7th Judicial Circuit Court of Missouri, Pleasant Valley Municipal Division is an extension and qualified division of the Circuit Court of Clay County. The Municipal Court adjudicates traffic and other ordinance violations filed by the Pleasant Valley Police Department, Animal Control and Code Enforcement Officers.

Payments* Payments may be made in person, via phone, or online (link above)* Cash, check with valid ID, or credit/debit cards are accepted* Checks are made out to the City of Pleasant Valley, a copy of the ID will be taken at the time of payment* The Court will NOT accept payments on court dates after 4pm, without an appearance before the Judge as they will be preparing for Court.Citations  Your failure to appear in court at the time specified on your citation, or otherwise respond to the citation as directed, may result in the suspension of your driver's license and driving privilege and may result in a warrant being issued for your arrest. Other legal penalties prescribed by law may be imposed for failure to appear and dispose of the violation.Court Hearings  Court Hearings are held at 5:30pm, unless otherwise stated by Court Staff.  One Continuance may be granted for defendants unrepresented by counsel on their Initial Arraignment date, up to 30 days by the Court Clerks via phone or in person upon request prior to 4pm on the day of their scheduled Court Hearing.   Public Defenders are to be requested in OPEN Court and are subject to approval from the Municipal Judge if qualifications are met.Subpoenas - Read Your Rights  A subpoena is a legal order to appear in court at a specific date and time. Subpoenas are issued when a defendant pleads not guilty and wishes to have a trial. The court may issue a subpoena to complainants, witnesses and victims. If you are served a subpoena, it will remain in effect until the case is concluded or you are discharged by the Court.  No additional subpoena is required for your future appearance at any hearing of the case.  If you fail to appear while under subpoena, you may be held in contempt of court and it may result in the issuance of a warrant for your arrest.  If you were subpoenaed to court, your case will be called at 5:30pm.  The Judge will confirm that the case is still set for trial and then ask all parties to have a seat so the Prosecutor can review the file.  Trials will then be held at the end of the docket.

We will continue plea recommendations outside of Court until further notice. We encourage you to utilize this method.If you have to come to Court, then please bring the Defendant with you, if possible, and have them provide you with their payment amount ahead of time.

Court Dockets will be posted above approximately two (2) weeks prior to the corresponding court date. Please be advised that continuances may not be reflected depending on when the continuance was requested.  A FINAL docket for the Court docket will be posted up to four (4) hours before that evening docket begins.  If you need to verify whether or not you are on the docket, please contact the Court at 816-792-4812.
